Alfred Kofoed Retires after Serving Over 50 Years in the Industry
We are happy to announce the retirement of valued CPA of Counsel, Alfred Kofoed. Al’s decision to retire brings a remarkable career of over 50 years practicing public accounting to a close.

Upon getting his start in accounting back in 1971 in the commercial audit division of Arthur Andersen & Company, Alf spent his career strengthening various firms and establishing his credibility as an innovator within the industry. In 1992, Alf and two colleagues took their practice to the next level by forming the reputable firm, Nievarrd, Kofoed & Teran (NK&T). There, he helped the Firm grow exponentially, serving more than 1200 clients over 24 years before dissolving the Firm and selling his portion of the practice to Pinnock Robbins Posey and Richins (PRPR). In 2018, Alf joined Squire, using his distinctive skills and five decades of experience to help boost client relations and the overall growth of the firm.
Alf’s commitment to advancing the accounting industry extends well beyond his day job, as he has devoted eight years to serving on a committee within the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). He is known across roles for his strategic vision and unique ability to provide meaningful feedback and results for clients and peers.

In retirement, Alf is eager to pursue his many hobbies which include, traveling in his truck and trailer to national and state parks, sailing at Strawberry Reservoir, skiing at Snow Basin, golfing at the Old Mill, cycling, and working on his photography. He also looks forward to spending a considerable amount of time with his wife, their four beautiful adult children and their families; there are presently 13 grandchildren and hoping for more.
